The core function of the Public Health Organization is a shelter for abused women. Throughout York Region they also have children’s programs, and public awareness programs, legal services, and fundraising programs. The Public Health Organization has been operating for the last 22 years and operates with a staff of 45, including full-time, part-time, and volunteers.

The Manager of Finance and head of Human Resources and IT delegate needed to implement a computer system that would assist the Public Health Organization with their payroll, accounting, day-to-day operations and networking between 5 satellite offices. "I started researching companies who would be able to provide our system. After obtaining proposals and completing thorough reference checks, Crestline was the one company who had a large service background and they had been established for a very long time. We knew they were stable in the business community and they were located conveniently. Crestline also provides our on-line hosting."

The Public Health Organization utilizes about 30 workstations networked with an IBM Server 300. The synchronization of the Outlook across the satellite offices was a big resolution. The fact that people can access Outlook from anywhere, on-site or off-site and continually communicate. "I couldn’t even begin to speculate on how much time or money that has saved us. It has just made everything easier in our day-to-day operations."

With the file server in place they are now able to connect and transfer information easily between 5 satellite offices. Their other office in Thornhill had a pier-to-pier network and their Outlook is now connected to this file server.

"We also have web access, which allows people to access information from home or where ever they are. We are now able to log our client notes and have continual access to records, letters, and other business information. This technology has had a huge impact and is helpful for any business we do.
